Bibbiena pictures for you. An old Tuscan town steeped in history and is off-the-beaten-track. Here is a picture of a very old door in the town. I have no idea how old it is, but it looked to me as if it could have been a good couple of hundred years old, if not more.
So many people pass Bibbiena by, but it really is a town with an interesting, if violent history. It started off as an Etruscan town of some importance. Centuries later, after the battle of Campaldino Bibbiena was devastated by Florentine troops.
In 1359 a rebellion by the people of Bibbiena grew up against the Florentines, ended in a siege and a new devastation of the town.
